The Pre-photokina news keeps on rolling today, Sony have announced 4 new D-SLR bodies, 3 new lenses.
The 4 new bodies, the Alpha SLT A33 & A55 have fixed transmissive mirrors allowing full time Phase detection AF, upto 10 frames per second capture rates among the major new details, main differences are the A33 uses a new 14.2mp CMOS sensor and the A55 uses a totally new 16.2mp CMOS unit
The other new bodies are the A560 and A580, both use the same 14.2 & 16.2mp CMOS sensors of the A33 & A55, but dont have the fixed light transmissive mirrors, relying on more traditional mirror set ups and slower frame rats of upto 7fps (though that is faster than some more expensive models)
The Major news across all 4 new bodies is the inclusion of full 1080 HD movie recording.

Nikon have announced several new products.. The first is the replacement for the D3000 D-SLR, the new D3100. The D3100 is more than a quick update to the D3000, Nikon have gutted the internals of the D3000 shell and totally replaced them, starting with a new Nikon designed CMOS sensor, EXPEED 2, new 3" LCD screen, but the biggest addition is D-Movie, and the ability to record full 1080p HD movies with full time continuous AF!
Along with the D3100, Nikon have announced several new lenses including the new AF-S DV 55-300mm f4.5-5.6 ED VR, this lens will complement the 18-55mm VR lens that is standard, and provide a longer telephoto lens than the current 55-200mm VR lens.
